Superbowl Party Ideas! – Killeen Homes – Fort Hood Real Estate

Search homes for sale in Killeen Texas – PaulaSOLDit.com

Planning to invite guests over for the Superbowl this year? I have been tossing around the idea but am a little nervous since I recently downsized my home. Entertaining in a 3300 SF home was a cinch… doing it in a 1500 SF home – is a challenge to say the least – but it can be done!

1) I think the #1 thing to consider is seating. No one wants to hang out with you if they will be standing for hours – or sitting on a hard floor. So, count your possible seats and don’t over-invite. My home can comfortable accommodate about 8 adults – and then it starts getting a little crowded. Upholstered stools or floor cushions would be perfect for temporary extra seating.

2) The next thing of course… FOOD! What is everyone going to munch on during the game? Keep it simple! Simple doesn’t mean “scant” – it just means “easy” – for YOU and for your guest. 2-bite foods are best – items that don’t require a fork hopefully – but definitely not a full set of utensils. Dips are great – but make sure you have the appropriate dishes for them. I always hate seeing yummy cheese dip and then having to slop it on a flat plate – no good. If you will be serving dips – consider 4 oz. clear plastic cups for guests to use.  Wooden skewers are also a great way to spear a meatball or little smokies and they look awesome on the table in a vase.

3) Don’t forget the bathroom(s). Trust me, you’ll thank me later for this. Your Superbowl bathroom should not be without the following;

  • A burning candle (please be safe about it especially if there will be kids or drunk adults around.
  • Fresh hand towels (2 or 3 and change them out every hour or so as needed)
  • An empty trash bin with a liner (the liner is key here – later you can throw out other people’s trash without having a germ meltdown)
  • Hand soap (this doesn’t need an explanation)
  • Air freshener – out in the OPEN where people can SEE it (hopefully they will use it)
  • Copious amounts of toilet tissue – best placed in a basket or bin so folks aren’t rummaging through your cabinets in a panic)
