How to make a tower garden – Lauren Brown Guest Blogger – Harker Heights TX

tower garden2Paula Raymond’s real estate blog! I’ve found much of her information she puts out interesting and helpful, and I’m excited for the opportunity to share a little about me and what I do. So, thank you Paula, so much for having me.

My name is Lauren Brown, I live in Harker Heights, am a mom of 4 kids, a lover of food, and am super passionate about family health and nutrition! We’ve recently relocated back to Texas after some time back home with family, and we couldn’t be happier to be back in the Lone Star state! One of the things that I was most excited about purchasing a home here in Harker Heights was to start a garden in my yard. However, my thumb has been known to be black. Very very BLACK. After learning so much about the produce available to us in the supermarkets today….organic vs. conventionally grown, GMOs, buying local, finding which fruits and vegetables are the most nutritious etc., I decided the best way to control what goes on our dinner table was to grow it myself! With 4 young kids running around, maintaining a garden seemed like a far off dream.

tower garden12 years ago I stumbled upon the Tower Garden by Juice Plus. This garden uses aeroponics/hydroponics to grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs right on your back patio! No soil or weeding, which was what I was dreading the most about a traditional garden, and the tower uses 90% LESS land and water than that of a in ground garden. My black thumb has turned very GREEN since using the Tower Garden, and the whole family is involved in the process. From choosing the seeds, setting it up, transplanting seedlings, testing the water and adding nutrients, everyone is my home plays a part and it has become something we all enjoy. The soil conditions in our Harker Heights yards aren’t always favorable, and the Tower Garden eliminates that and makes it so anyone can have fresh produce available at anytime.

The overall awareness of our health has improved since having a tower. Our kids get a great hands on lesson on the lifecycle of plants, and they are eating many more vegetables. I attribute that to having them involved in the process of growing seeds that they have chosen! It’s a win win, and I want to share the Tower garden with every Texas family who wants to be healthier!
